$10,000 Goal

Help Pacific Arts Movement make our $10,00 fundraising goal during Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month! With your contribution, we will be able to continue to represent and bring the best of Asian and Asian American cinema to San Diego, as well as support emerging filmmakers and provide educational opportunities for our community.

Your donation will directly support our programming like our Spring Showcase and help us to continue to make a positive impact in the San Diego community. We understand that this is a significant amount, but we believe in the power of film to bring people together, inspire change, and ensure that AAPI voices and stories are available to everyone.

About the organization:
Pacific Arts Movement (Pac Arts) is one of the largest media arts organizations in North America that focuses on Asian American and Asian international cinema.

Pacific Arts Movement presents Asian and Asian American Pacific Islander media arts to San Diego residents and visitors in order to inspire, entertain, and support a more compassionate society.

We fulfill our mission by:

  • Presenting unique, culturally-enriching programs that would otherwise be inaccessible to the public
  • Engaging the public in meaningful discourse that promotes positive social change through our programs
  • Promoting artistic excellence, innovation and the independent voice
  • Strengthening San Diego as an arts destination

Pac Arts flagship program, the San Diego Asian Film Festival is dedicated to highlighting the diversity and breadth of Asian Pacific Islander and Asian international images, from impassioned independent voices and provocative documentary subjects to the top hits from the world’s biggest continent, the latest works from the masters of cinema, and the fresh points of view of Asian, Asian American, and Pacific Islander filmmakers.

Through Reel Voices, Pac Arts empowers local high school students to learn the art of documentary filmmaking. This 8-week summer class helps students become socially-conscious storytellers, learn video editing, and experience all stages of production. Students choose their own topics ranging from self love, mental health, social issues, cultural identity and more in stories that are both personal and deeply relevant to the broader San Diego community.
