Providing Mutual Aid for BIPOC Creatives Impacted By COVID-19

A message from Actor Leonardo Nam in support of the #SDArtistFund.

Pacific Arts Movement is proud to serve as the fiscal agent of the San Diego Artist Relief Fund, a mutual aid campaign raising funds for Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) artists and historically marginalized creative workers in our region.

As the fiscal agent, our responsibility is to distribute payments directly to recipients and serve as an accountability and oversight partner.

The San Diego Artist Relief Fund will distribute one-time $1,000 grants to individual artists in San Diego County who are in dire financial need as a result of COVID-19.

WHO IS BEHIND THE FUND?

The San Diego Artist Relief Fund is organized by a diverse group of individual artists, organizers, arts administrators, educators, nonprofit founders, and advocates who love San Diego, and are passionate about developing a vibrant and equitable Arts & Culture sector.  Click here for a list of the good folks who helped shape this San Diego Artist Relief Fund.

In partnership with the San Diego Regional Arts & Culture Coalition, we launched the San Diego Arts + Culture Challenge Fund earlier this year and distributed $250,000 in COVID-related emergency gap funding to 32 small arts organizations, supporting an estimated 100 creative workers.  A full list of the 32 recipient organizations can be found at www.sandiegoracc.org/challenge
