Pacific Arts Movement Statement on Immigration Executive Order

As an organization that has shared many immigrant and refugee stories from around the world, Pacific Arts Movement is deeply concerned by the President’s recent executive order restricting immigrants from seven Muslim-majority countries, as well as all refugees.

The mission of Pacific Arts Movement is to foster a more compassionate society and as such, we stand against policies rooted in xenophobia and prejudice. Instead, we encourage civic discourse and action that leads to a more inclusive and understanding community.

As events unfold in the wake of the executive order, filmmakers are picking up their cameras to document these stories as well as to shine a light on those who choose to fight for justice, diversity, inclusion, and compassion.

Pacific Arts Movement is committed to providing a platform for these filmmakers and others who capture stories of social justice from an Asian American perspective. This year, we renew that commitment with urgency and determination.
