POSITION SUMMARY
Join the San Diego Asian Film Festival's dynamic team! We're looking for enthusiastic individuals, students or recent graduates, with a passion for cinema and Asian cultures. As a member of our screening committee, you'll play a vital role in selecting feature and short film submissions. Gain hands-on experience in programming, including writing program notes, corresponding with filmmakers, and assisting with database maintenance and administrative tasks. Flexible scheduling is available, but availability during weekday business hours is required. This is an unpaid opportunity, it's perfect for those eager to immerse themselves in the world of film and Asian communities. All are welcome to apply, regardless of student status.

This position offers a unique opportunity to experience and participate in an exciting film and cultural event. Interns get hands-on experience with festival planning and implementation, as well as exposure to the Asian American arts community locally and regionally. Interns will broaden their knowledge of contemporary international film styles and trends. This can also be a great networking opportunity and valuable experience for aspiring filmmakers, writers, activists, event planners, or nonprofit entrepreneurs.

- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills

- Proficiency with Google Docs (documents and spreadsheets)
- Web/internet savvy: research and social networking applications
- Independent and dependable worker
- Knowledge of or interest in Asian and Asian American media arts
- Reliable transportation to our office
- Very strong interest in world cinema
- Able to meet deadlines and work under pressure
- Availability for the entire length of the festival season (January to November)
