Brian Hu is a film curator and educator with a focus on Asian and Asian American cinema. In addition to leading the programming of the San Diego Asian Film Festival, he has co-curated programs for the Criterion Channel and the UCLA Film and TV Archive. Along with Ada Tseng, he produces and hosts the Asian American film history podcast Saturday School. He is an Associate Professor of Television, Film, and New Media at San Diego State University and is the author of the book Worldly Desires: Cosmopolitanism and Cinema in Hong Kong and Taiwan. He received his PhD in Cinema and Media Studies from UCLA.
