The San Diego Asian Pacific Islander (API) Coalition grieves for the families and communities of numerous Asian community members murdered in Georgia on March 16, 2021 by senseless gun violence and anti-Asian racism. We hope those wounded survive these atrocious attacks and we continue to condemn all forms of hate.
For over a year, API serving organizations in the San Diego region have been advocating and pushing for the safety and well-being of the API community as the nation witnessed the rise in anti-API hate, violence, and xenophobia locally, nationally, and globally.
The San Diego API Coalition calls on our local and national leaders to condemn anti-API violence and to actively find solutions to shield our community from further hate and violence. We call on San Diegans to stand united against all forms of hate and violence towards marginalized communities.

The San Diego Asian Pacific Islander (API) Coalition is a platform of San Diego API-serving organizations. Our mission is to facilitate conversations with API communities and advocate for representation of voices by amplifying and cultivating leadership, acting as a hub for API organizations to collaborate, and building a more inclusive and equitable San Diego. The coalition was formed in response to rise of anti-API attacks and hate due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
